Junior Year

A lot has happened in the past year, and school has been a crazy ride but I know it will be worth it in a year, so I just try to hang on! Seeing patients is defininitly my favorite part of school and I want to use this blog to remember all the crazy things they say.

Top 10 Patient Memories:

10: Mom as my first patient, brought a brownie cupcake to her all day appointment, thinking we would have
      time for a snack. WRONG!

9: Patients thinking mouth rinsing is as good as brushing

8: Being asked if I will be a dentist at the end of two years

7: Allowing another junior student to finish a patient, only to be told by the patient she wished she was being seen by a senior (I guess it was pretty obvious we were juniors)

6: Being told a patients last Pano was taken while in prison, and no I could not have a copy of it

5: My nun tellig me she didn't need to take vitamins, she got her nutrients from being in the sun

4: My nun also referring to my instuctor as Lady

3: Chad being excited because I said tendancy towards class II occlusion, thinking he was a Class II, not the same!

2: Having Pt continuously fall alsleep during appointment, closing down on my fingers unless i repeated called him by name.

1: Pedo patient asking to go to school with disclosing fully covering her teeth because her favorite color is pink!

Finally Home!

Heidi is officially here as of 12:00pm yesterday! At first a very shy Heidi only wanted to be held tight and watch E! all afternoon. After meeting the whole fam and getting used to her new home she started exploring. Toes and chasing feet are currently her favorite toys but she is starting to like all her cute stuff. Last night went very well! She slept in her create the whole night with little fuss & without making a mess. Currently we have a perfect potty record of zero accidents. Sleeping Beauty waited for me to wake her up which was much appreciated. So far today we have worked on leash training which is going much better than yesterday. She hops rather than walks down the street looking like a little bunny rabbit. Here are a few pics!

Baby Heidi

I have been trying to wait patiently since beginning of March when I first learned I would be getting another puppy. Finding a name was no easy, but finally decided on Heidi, which fits her cute little face perfectly. In 12 long hours she will finally be here. As I think back to all the long nights of puppy cries and getting up at all hours of the night to take Lola outside only to just sit and look at me; it was totally worth and something I will always cherish because there is no love like puppy love. Losing Lola was one of the hardest most upsetting times of my life but to know that another puppy needs my love just as I need its love it worth that hard work. Heidi has big shoes to fill, and am looking forward to all our new adventures to come...
